After seeing you 9 times, I knew there would be a chance for a bad show. It wasn't when you blew the electricity in Westport - a candle light show - freaking amazing. It wasn't the first time i saw you. It wasn't when you opened for others. It wasn't in Davenport, Iowa, where you were surprised at the fan support. It was in my own freaking hometown. I could feel the 'tude as soon as you stepped on stage. Was still pulling for a great show - but couldn't tell if you wanted us to know the old stuff, know the new stuff - And I know it all! But the reason I felt the worst, was that the gal standing next to me was so excited to see you for the first time, and this was her show. Her first time. Every time can be the first impression. She couldn't believe how you left. I didn't sing one word of your cover - but sang right along to every other word that was yours. I understood the message when you left - "open your eyes". I'll be there the 10th time - although I know I will have to drive to see you now. You'll just push Iowa off your radar. Just remember there is always someone discovering you for the first time - and it might be in Ames, Iowa.
