Mpls Concert
Sadly I am just getting home from the Minneapolis concert where Howie acted like a spoiled 8 year old despite a good size crowd that put up with a number of technical glitches. The show promptly ended at 11:10 or so after a looping session went wrong (for the 2nd time during the show). I am a huge fan, although I haven't seen you play since your show outdoors for the Minneapolis Aquatennial in 2003. I thought your show then was amazing and the energy you brought to the stage prior to Semisonic reuniting was amazing. That said I was extremely disappointed that I paid $20 to see this show and would much rather have paid the same to see your opening act Matt Lowell play the whole show instead of watching you whine about the crowd not being into it. Next time you play a venue like the Fine Line have them clear out the floor so the crowd can tell you demand a boisterous audience. I hate to whine and moan about a show I was super stoked to see, but this was really a disappointment. I've never seen an artist storm off and not come back for the encore. I realize this was the end of your tour, but next time do it with some class. You lost a CD purchase and any future patronage out of this one, thankfully I can still download your stuff for free. I'd love to hear a fan response to what the hell happened tonight.... and apparently in Ames as well.

Ames Concert
I was at your concert in Ames, and I have to agree with the post above. I was disappointed. I am a HUGE fan and was so excited to see you live for the first time. This was the 3rd time that I drove to Ames - the first two times I got there only to find out the show was canceled. But nothing would have stopped me from coming to see you. I totally get it if you were upset by the quiet crowd, but not everybody was. I was in the loud group up front to your left. You referred to us a couple of times like "o.k. any else besides these guys?" I love your music and could see your play list and you didn't get anywhere near the end of it. When you left without saying anything, not even a thank you, I was sure you were coming back. The girl next to me, who was a die hard fan and had seen you live 8 times, said you weren't, that you were pissed and wouldn't come back - and she was right. I had so hoped to meet you - but instead you stormed off. If you felt like you were teaching your audience a lesson, what you really did was punish your die hard fans. I bought Sound the Alarm the first day it was available. I hound our local radio station to play you on a regular basis - check it out - Star 102.5 on facebook. You will see my posts where I thank them everytime they play you and I encourage them to play more. Regardless whether or not you wanted to be there - there were a lot of us who had really did and were really excited to see you and it was so disappointing to have you snub your own fans.
